Secondary 3 June Holiday Crash Course

The June Holidays May Be the Turning Point They Need

By the time students reach Secondary 3, the jump in difficulty often catches them by surprise.

✅ More subjects.
✅ Heavier content load.
✅ Abstract concepts that require deep understanding, not just memorisation.

And if they’re already falling behind, things don’t magically get easier in Secondary 4.

The truth is: this is when the gap widens… quietly, but rapidly.

That’s why we created a targeted 2-hour Secondary 3 Crash Course during the June holidays - 100% free - to help students regroup and realign before Term 3.

Transformation Stories

“My tutor is an excellent teacher who explains concepts clearly with simple formulas that are often not taught in school. They manage to capture students’ attention without being strict or loud, and once they have our attention, they teach the topics effectively. Since joining this class, my grades have shot up from B3s to consistently scoring 95 and above. The classes are still fun and interactive, and somehow, math has become enjoyable”

- Bosco Lee, Secondary 4, 2024

“I’m grateful to Crucible for the tremendous support they’ve given my son. Thanks to their dedicated tutors and well-structured lessons, he received guidance in five subjects, and all the tutors were excellent. He not only gained confidence but also achieved A1s in his O-Level exams.

The tutors are patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about their students’ progress. They provided regular updates, identified his weak areas early on, and worked closely with him to strengthen those skills. The focused attention made a significant difference.”

Pinpoint the Topics That Actually Matter

Our tutors don’t waste time. We help students cut through the noise and identify high-weightage topics and common misconceptions that often cost them marks.

Master Study Strategies That Work

Many students think the solution is “study more.” It’s not. We teach efficient techniques: How to revise, practise, and retain information effectively without burning out.

Build Confidence Through Clarity

When students finally understand why they’re struggling and how to get back on track, they walk away with a sense of clarity and control that sets them apart from their peers.

Subjects Offered:

English, E-Math, A-Math, Chinese, Biology, Chemistry & Physics

My tutor’s lessons are engaging and very interesting. They take time outside of class to answer our questions and reply promptly. Under their guidance, we’re always up to date with schoolwork. From my Sec 3 EOY exam to Sec 4 WA1, my E-Math grade jumped from 38% (F9) to 83% (A1)!

They are extremely patient when explaining difficult topics and make sure everything is taught in a clear, structured way.

I am deeply grateful to the tutors at Crucible, who demonstrate not only dedication but genuine care for their students. What sets them apart is their commitment beyond academics. They truly care about the well-being of each student. To me, a true teacher is not just someone who teaches well but one who loves and cares with a passionate heart. The tutors at Crucible embody this ideal fully.

I want to especially thank my son’s tutor for his unwavering commitment to my son, Gareth. He goes the extra mile by spending additional time coaching Gareth and attentively monitoring his emotional well-being, especially when school pressures mount. This thoughtful care has made a significant difference in Gareth’s confidence and academic progress.

Who Should join this crash course?

Students that fell behind because of CCA commitments
The National School Games and other high-commitment CCAs often mean missed lessons and limited revision time. Now that the season’s over, this June holiday is their best chance to hit reset, before the Term 3 content wave rolls in.

Term 2 didn’t go as well as expected.
Maybe grades slipped, or they barely passed. Many students hit a wall in Term 2, where content complexity spikes and subjects move faster than they can adjust. This is a clear sign that support is needed now, not later.

Students that are aiming for top schools or competitive programs.
Students eyeing elite JC or IP tracks know that even small dips in grades can impact their long-term goals. This crash course helps them reinforce the foundations before Term 3 introduces even more complexity.

Students that want to study smart and avoid burnout.
Even high achievers sometimes rely on sheer effort rather than technique. We’ll show them how to study more efficiently, so they don’t burn out by Term 4.

Students that have been performing well and want to maintain their edge.
Consistency is key. Students who are ahead now can’t afford to lose momentum in Term 3, when the academic load becomes even heavier. This session ensures they know what’s coming, and how to stay on top of it.

Students that want to make the most of their June holidays.
Students with ambition don’t want to waste the break. This course helps them use just 2 hours to set themselves up for success, without sacrificing rest or downtime.

Transformation Stories

“My tutor is a dedicated teacher who has completely changed the way I view Chemistry. The two-hour lessons are incredibly effective, giving me time to understand complex concepts, ask questions without feeling rushed, and learn at a comfortable pace.

Their clear explanations, engaging examples, and personalised guidance make each session both productive and enjoyable. Thanks to their support, my grades improved dramatically - from a C5 in prelims to an A2 for O-Levels. I’m really grateful for their help in boosting my confidence and helping me achieve that A.”

Sean Gerald Yoo, Secondary 4, 2024

“Before I joined Crucible, I was failing both A and E Math and believed I was just bad at the subject. But the lessons helped me realise that math isn’t just about memorising formulas or blindly practising questions.

My tutors taught me the underlying concepts, which made it much easier to apply them across different types of questions. I improved from an F9 to an A2 in my first test after joining.

Junius Chong, Secondary 4, 2025

“I started sending my son to Crucible when he was in Secondary 3, as he was struggling with Math and Science. Initially, I was skeptical about group tuition, but we decided to give it a try. His results began to improve steadily, and he started enjoying his classes.

Crucible has a very structured programme and prepares students well. His tutor was extremely supportive, always encouraging him and offering helpful advice.

We were more than delighted when he scored distinctions for most of his subjects and was listed as one of the top performers in school.

We will not hesitate to recommend Crucible, as they have shown remarkable results in our son’s journey”

Elaine (Parent of Bryan), Secondary 4, 2024

My tutors were really helpful. Whenever I had questions I didn’t know how to solve, I could text them and they’d guide me through it. They also helped me plan my time properly and encouraged me throughout my Secondary 3 and 4 journey.

They took the time to explain why I got certain questions wrong and provided topic summaries for both Chemistry and Physics. They’ve helped me so much, and I’m incredibly grateful for their support! This led to me getting A1 for A-Math, and A2 for both Chemistry and Physics.
