Dear Parents and Students of Crucible Education Centre,

We would like to first thank you for your unwavering support over the past term. This circular aims to provide more details on our upcoming internal Mid-Year Examination for Term 2 2026.

The Crucible internal Mid-Year Examination is meant to lay the groundwork for students to start revision early and serve as a timely checkpoint for students to determine their strengths and weaknesses. The Examination is compulsory for all students and will replace one of the regular lessons in Term 2. The students’ papers will be marked, returned and reviewed in a subsequent regular lesson.

We are pleased to share that feedback from the past 2 years have been very positive since we first introduced this. Both parents and students found it a useful checkpoint to assess where students stand, and the feedback provided by tutors was especially helpful in guiding their revision moving forward.

Our tutors will inform all students about the format and topics that will be tested, and they will also provide reminders regarding their respective examination subject dates and timings. Students who are unable to attend the scheduled Examination should approach their tutor to arrange for a replacement timeslot where possible. If no suitable replacement timeslot can be arranged, the student will be marked as “absent.” In this scenario, please collect the examination paper from your tutor and complete it under timed conditions at home.

Note : Please report to your regular centre 15 minutes before the start of your Examination.

Tanglin CC will be closed on 01 June 2026, Monday, as it is a public holiday. Students from Tanglin CC will be informed of an alternative timing within the same week to take the test that falls on that day.
